A fantastic and rare vintage flame bronze necklace pendant and brooch pin designed by Björn Weckström (1935-) for the Lapponia. Björn Weckström is one of the most innovative Finnish designers of the 1960´s.
His Flame Bronze collection was inspired by America´s car industry. This particular necklace is titled “Daytona” and it was designed in 1971, and had a limited production between 1971 and 1979. The piece is cast bronze, and it and the chain have a pink and purple patina. The pin mechanism is an unusual tube hinge, and has a squared off c-clasp. The piece also has two pendant loops, so you can wear it in one direction as a brooch, an in the opposite direction as a pendant. Signed “Lapponia Björn Finland”
